Medicare Part D Creditable Coverage Notice
Employers must provide the Medicare Part D Creditable Coverage Notice to all Medicare-eligible employees and dependents by October 15, 2025.
Key Points
Distribution: Mail delivery of the notice is required. Given the timing, we also recommend sending the notice by email once materials are available to ensure employees receive it promptly.
Employer Requirements: CMS requires employees and dependents be informed annually whether coverage is creditable or non-creditable.
Medicare-eligible individuals are not only those over age 65 — they may also include employees or dependents under 65 with disabilities or certain conditions.
Even if you are unsure who in your group is eligible, you are still required to provide the notice to all participants.

Each carrier handles this requirement differently:

Aetna AFA: List of potential non-creditable plans available – [Download List]. Clients must email WestAAT@aetna.com with Plan ID, effective date, and plan name for confirmation.
Cigna: Proprietary tool pending release.
Baylor Scott & White (BSW): Still pending.
Nationwide (Allstate): Still pending.
